Dukan Diet – Week 5

Starting Weight: 163.8 lbs
Ending Weight: 160.8 lbs (-3.0lbs)

This week I was all smiles when I stepped on the scales. I had weight loss 5 days out of 7, 1 day where my weight stayed the same and 1 day where I had a gain. This week marked my highest weight loss week at 3lbs. 3lbs in 7 days!!!! Crazy, yes? That’s higher even than my attack phase (although I was on the attack phase for only 2 days). It is a HUGE relief to be in the 160s, and it took me just 37 days to get to this point. I admit it hasn’t really sunk it yet. I should be doing a happy dance instead of typing this calmly.

Period Weight Lost Ending Weight
Attack (2 days) -2.4 lbs 168.2 lbs
Cruise (Week 1) -2.0 lbs 166.2 lbs
Cruise (Week 2) -0.4 lbs 165.8 lbs
Cruise (Week 3) -0.6 lbs 165.2 lbs
Cruise (Week 4) -1.4 lbs 163.8 lbs
Cruise (Week 5) -3.0 lbs 160.8 lbs

I am so very close to a 10 lb milestone – halfway point. I think I should be able to call it in a couple of days. One goal I had was to lose 11 lbs by April 13th, meaning I have another week to lose 1.2 lbs. I think that can be done :) If I continue at this pace then hopefully by mid-May I’ll be celebrating hitting my target weight of 149lbs and moving on to the Consolidation phase.

Meals had the usual variety this week. I had Dukan galette for breakfast 6 days out of 7 for breakfast and an oat bran porridge on the last day. I have yet to add a new recipe to my rotation, but found this fabulous website for inspirations - dukanitout.com via hapacouple.blogspot.ca.

I confess I am not *yet* doing the prescribed daily walking exercises. I’m working on it :)
